The Friends of Fort Davis National
Historic Site, established in 1983, is a non-profit 501 (c) (3)
organization whose purpose is to support activities approved by the
National Park Service for which congressionally appropriated funds
are not available. The scope of these activities includes
restoration and preservation, educational and cultural programs, and
research and planning.

The Friends are presently undertaking
a fundraising campaign to assist in the restoration and
interpretation of the 1876 post hospital. The Friends have acquired
a collection of 19th-century medical instruments, which will be
displayed in the refurnished hospital.

The Friends also help
provide funding for interpretive activities at the Fort and at other
locations in the town of Fort Davis during Old Fort Day, the
Saturday closest to Columbus Day.
Annual membership in the
Friends is $20.00. To join, please send a check made out to “Friends
